The Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery (MVMC) was made possible by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the State of Mississippi, authorizing the State to operate and maintain the Veterans Cemetery. Our first interment occurred July 5, 2011.
Please Note: While we look forward to serving veteran's internment needs, Reservations are not accepted. Interment is on a first come, first served basis.
To Schedule a Burial
You should go through your funeral home with whom you made arrangements. The funeral home will contact the cemetery and make arrangements for scheduling the interment.
Military Funeral Honors
The local military honor groups are comprised of a combination of active duty and full-time reserve members who provide military honors to all veterans buried at Mississippi State Veterans Cemetery (MSVC). The Funeral Directors will make arrangements with the military honor groups per the request of the family's.
- Memorial Day (May) - Small flags will be placed on graves by designated personnel one day before Memorial Day and removed one day thereafter. Flag standards will not be permitted at any time.
- Veterans Day (November)
- Wreaths Across America (December).

General Information Kiosk
Located outside the Administration Building, the Information Kiosk is available during visitation hours. The Kiosk contains the names of veterans and their eligible dependents buried at the cemetery. The Kiosk will generate a printed map with the name of the interred and his or her grave location.
Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
